This afternoon was a gorgeous day...60 degrees, no wind, sunny. Simply could not pass up the opportunity to smoke a cigar. It's funny because earlier in the day I was thinking if I could smoke any cigar today, what would it be. This stick came to mind.
Beautiful chocolate, toothy wrapper with a nice slightly oily sheen. Nice band. Seams are visible, but tight. It gives off a slightly chocolate/tobacco aroma. Cut the cap, draw is perfect and carries flavors of tobacco and spice.
Toasted right up. Initial flavors are of rich tobacco, slight unsweetened chocolate, and spice on the finish. Carries a creamy coffee note through the nose.
Burn is sharp and smoke billows from this thing like a freight train. Ash is bright white and tight. Also getting a cinnamon and perhaps some vanilla to the flavors, this is a pretty complex mixture.
Burn remains sharp. Flavors haven't changed in terms of what is there, they have only gotten better.
A little harshness has crept into the cigar, probably from smoking too fast. Damn this is one good cigar and I had to make a conscious effort not to smoke too fast.
A roasted peanut has now joined the coffee on the retro hale.
Nubbin' it cause I'm lovin' it . Towards the end I was getting a minty tobacco aftertaste, perhaps due to the heat of the cigar (though it wasn't getting too hot that the flavors didn't come through) :dunno:. The wrapper did suffer a crack at the end, but it didn't stop me from enjoying it a little more.
Overall a superbly constructed stick. Very delicious. My only gripe is now I'm going to want more :disappoin.
