first, thanks to @mel-mbombay , for letting me review this
2nd, even though it was gifted, I'm giving an honest review here. The last MBombay I had, just didn't suit my flavor profile, and thought it was just ok.
MBombay Classic Churchill
Wrapper, Ecuador Connecticut
Binder, Dominican
Filler, Honduras/Peru/Nicaraguan/DR
5 countries involved in this blend. That's pretty crazy to mix that much together, but Mel found a way. Not really knowing what to expect here, and while I don't often smoke churchills, Im firing it up for the Super Bowl.

The band is incredible and unlike anything that I've seen. So much going on that I want to preserve it. I find it easy to get off with lots of slow peeling. Unlike the other Bombays I've had, this one does not have a smaller band underneath. I keep thinking a small band at the foot would make it pop, but this would probably look silly on a smaller size.
Initial impression are heavy oak with a tingling pepper flavor on the retro hale. Some have said this is a mild/medium smoke, but I feel medium is the right description for it.

About halfway through and it has mellowed out. Still medium but on the lower scale. The oak has transitioned to cedar. Very woodsy with a slight hint of sugar. At this point the smoke is also becoming creamy and the spice has dropped to almost nonexistent.

Coming to the end, and I have to say, the retro hale is great. Cedar seems to take the front stage now. With about an inch left, it sours a bit, but I'm sure a purge would help that. However, I'm not a Churchill guy anymore and I let it die.
Overall impressions are that this is a very good cigar. I'd score it at about an 89. At the $11 or so price point, it's not out of whack. However, that's about what I'd pay at a b&m, and I'd like to see the box price around $130-140. Lots of competition for this smoke so at $200 a box, I'd probably look elsewhere. Still, this is a damn nice smoke and consider yourself lucky if you get to try one, which brings me to my last point. The closest retailer to me is in PA, about 3.5 hours away, and while I saw that seriouscigar (never bought from them) has them, this seems like a hard one to track down.
Thanks Mel, I really enjoyed this one and wish you the best of luck.
