Went out last night to a local bar for some music and drinks. Aaron (HalloweenHarry31) met up with me and we enjoyed some cigars. I took this opportunity to try the Mi Barrio. This particular cigar is a Belicoso measuring 5 3/4 x 52. Removing the cigar from the cellophane I am greeted with a pleasing earthy aroma. The wrapper is oily and a medium brown color. The construction is of a high quality. My cutter clips off about 1/4" from the cap quickly and cleanly. Draw has just a touch of resistance...perfect. The cold draw carries flavors of tobacco and an unusual flavor that I can only describe as green bell pepper. The foot toasts easily under the flame from my Bic. Immediately I am greeted by that familiar Pepin pepper, but this soon dies away and is replaced by an earthy/nuttiness. I enjoyed the flavors a great deal. The burn wasn't razor sharp and needed a few touch ups, but was never a problem. The ash was a light gray color and held tightly for about 1 1/2 - 2" before falling. Other than some leather creeping in toward the nub, the flavors remained consistent for the duration of the cigar. Overall it was a great experience . While these run a little on the high side (at least with my budget), I would definitely buy more.
