Midwest Brewers Fest

Hope some of the locals and semi-locals came come out on Saturday August 27th for the first annual Midwest Brewers Fest in Plainfield IL.

My local homebrew club helped organize this and I'll be volunteering in the morning pouring with some of the breweries and then drinking in the afternoon.

It's a great opportunity to try beers from 54 (and still growing) breweries as well as home brew from club members.

It's $40 for the day and that includes 25 tickets for tasting and it's really to help support a local charity to rebuild the park area so it's a good cause and great beer (be sure to check out the participating breweries from the link below, it's re-donk-u-lous).

And not to mention, you'll be a stones throw away from the Burning Leaf!

I would attend if I liked beer, but I don't. Sounds like fun though and I am working on making a trip to that area soon.
