  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

As I fought with the lid of the SLB I knew they were over humidified, but my suspicions were confirmed when I pulled out the wheel of sticks. I've already contacted the vendor and I'll see what they say come Monday. I'm more interested in your opinion. I'm just thinking about wiping them off, separating them, and putting them to sleep for a bit until smoking away.

The stick you see is the worst one, the rest are just spotty on the head here and there. None on the foot or body. I'm guessing this was the 'mother cigar' :stretchgr

I voted for Wipe, separate, then smoke!

And if by seperate you mean "dry box" them for a while, yes, I would do that for about a week, just my opinion.

which one? Pm me if you would.

Not very bad imo. Wipe them off. Place in a sealable bag with some drier hf beads to soak up the exta rh. And let the box dry box itself for a day only after wiping the inside of the cab out. And for gods sake everyone stop using this vendor yes its the same one!!!!!!!

It is very common, just wipe them off, and dry box them and the box for a week or so. When you put them back in the humidor after dry boxing them, just leave the lid off.

The mold in the pic is not bad, I have seen much worse.

as long as the mold is not in/on the foot of the cigars, just wipe them off, dry box them and separate as others have said.

Those aren't too bad to save, IMO. Like everyone else has said, wipe 'em and segregate them. As long as the mold isn't INSIDE the stick, it looks okay. Good luck.

I would first and foremost try to exchange these as I imagine any good relater would honor some sort of satisfaction guarantee, if this is not possible then I would do the same as those who have alluded to before me and simply wipe off the mold and keep them separate from the rest of your stash. I would most certainly still smoke these if there isn't any mold on the foot.

Don't do anything, I'd wait until Monday and see what the vendor says before you alter them in anyway and render them nonreturnable.

I had never had an issue with moldy cigars in my life until last month. Then I got 3 different packages with mold (one from a private party, 2 from an online shop). It's VERY disappointing, for sure. But in the end, if the mold is not too bad ... like this appears to be ... if you wipe them off with a slightly damp paper towel, dry them, and let them rest (keeping a close eye), they really should be fine. You'll end up never knowing the difference.

Wipe them off, FREEZE them for 2 days (with the box and everything), 2 days in the fridge and you should be good to go!

Freezing wont help with mold.

Wipe them off, dry box them you should be good.
No but it makes sure that the cigar is "safe". If the cigar has been to warm/humid thats the safe way to go, also helps with the smell (of the mold)
