  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Size: 4" x 50
Wrapper: Brazilian Mata Fina
Binder: Brazilian Mata Fina
Filler: Brazilian Mata Fina/Mata Norte
Price: $4-5/single, $115-130/box 25

I was on the deck painting a cage I'm building for a Brazilian Rainbow Boa this afternoon and felt like I wanted something a little more unknown. So I rummaged through the humidor and pulled out his cigar. Frank got some a while back from someone and gave one to me to try. Figured this would be a perfect time to do that. Upon visual inspection the cigar looks unassuming, but nice. The band is simple, but not cartoonish or plain. Slight reddish-brown wrapper with no real discernible oil sheen to the wrapper. Don't see any real veins present, but can feel one running the length of the cigar below the wrapper. Also notice some thicker stems present in the foot of the cigar. Aroma is a dirty faint hay smell. Toasted quickly and easily (I went in my shed out of the wind). First several puffs were a dirty earth flavor with some sweetness toward the finish. Then a peppery flavor joined the party around 1/2" in. Overall it wasn't bad, but not particularly impressive. I kept waiting for something to jump in and tie it all together. The burn was good despite the breeze and the cigar produced a nice amount of smoke. At around the half way point there hadn't been a change in the flavor profile so I let it go out and focused more on not getting paint on the deck. I've smoked and like cigars with Mata Fina in them, but in this case I think it was too much. It needed something else to help liven up the mix.

That picture is amazing Dan, and I'm not talking about the cigar. I finally got to drive through the area a couple of weeks ago (we're bringing Andy's to Joplin!) and was speechless.

Cool! Where are you all looking to go? Plenty of empty lots! LOL

We can hang out at the Joplin local B&M... you know, the candy store.

Corner of 32nd and Rangeline, should start construction within a month. We'll be in front a brand new Price Cutter who we are partnering with.

Sorry to hear that you didn't like that stick. I am very fond of the Minuto, it has tons of great flavor, but never had that Short Robusto.

Score, love me some custard! Yeah, things are getting cleaned up. They've almost got the technical school behind my house cleaned up and they've only been working on that a few weeks. It's just going to take a long time to get everything back to looking even somewhat normal.

:scratchhe So who you kickin' out? 32nd and Rangeline has businesses there.

More for you my friend . Different smokes for different folks. I was a little disappointed I didn't like this one. Like I said, I like other cigars that feature Mata Fina, but it just seemed flat here. Needed something to help round it out.

Dan... it's where HyVee was looking to go into... until they couldn't settle their differences with the highway department about wanting a signal right there. I AM interested to see how they manage the traffic in and out of that area, there.

That's it! Price Cutter is going to have rear access added which may lessen the traffic out front.

That's why I didn't understand why HyVee wouldn't budge on that. Easy to have access from that road that runs from back around USBank around the corner. But no... asses. Sorry, I would LOVE to have a HyVee here...

But I am a Price Cutter fan... except they don't carry ground lamb!!! *refer to my facebook bitch about this*
