Purchased at a little cigar shop in the Gaslight District of San Diego.
Which Jeff told me was a "pretty good" cigar
Montesino Churchill:
Country of origin: Dominican Republic
Factory: Fuente
Vitola: Churchill
Ring Gage: 48
Construction: Excellent although several large veins run the length of this stick.
Clipped with Donatus Scissors: Firm even clip with no hint of dryness.
The prelight draw was slightly firm almost perfect.
I toasted the foot with a soft flame duPont knockoff using the purge lighting technique.
The initial flavor coming through was that of dirty socks. This quickly turned to a piquant sour grassiness that prevailed for the first third of this cigar. The flavor slowly changed to overtones of dirt and the aroma of a wet mangy dog which continued for the remainder of the cigar, with occasional hints of spiciness that I would equate to fresh horse dung.
The finish was lingering and harsh, leaving me with a overwhelming desire to find some Lysol to cleanse my palate.
Overall I would give this cigar my Hobo's Ass award and rate it a -5
Jeff my friend, either you or I have, to quote a brother on a long ago board "The Palate of a Billy Goat". I just ain't sure which one of us deserves the title.
