  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Purchased at a little cigar shop in the Gaslight District of San Diego.
Which Jeff told me was a "pretty good" cigar
Montesino Churchill:
Country of origin: Dominican Republic
Factory: Fuente
Vitola: Churchill
Ring Gage: 48
Construction: Excellent although several large veins run the length of this stick.
Clipped with Donatus Scissors: Firm even clip with no hint of dryness.

The prelight draw was slightly firm almost perfect.

I toasted the foot with a soft flame duPont knockoff using the purge lighting technique.
The initial flavor coming through was that of dirty socks. This quickly turned to a piquant sour grassiness that prevailed for the first third of this cigar. The flavor slowly changed to overtones of dirt and the aroma of a wet mangy dog which continued for the remainder of the cigar, with occasional hints of spiciness that I would equate to fresh horse dung.
The finish was lingering and harsh, leaving me with a overwhelming desire to find some Lysol to cleanse my palate.

Overall I would give this cigar my Hobo's Ass award and rate it a -5

Jeff my friend, either you or I have, to quote a brother on a long ago board "The Palate of a Billy Goat". I just ain't sure which one of us deserves the title.

Just had a guy come in and smoke a one of these on two consecutive days at the B&M. With our 100+ different boxes of cigars he went for the one no one really buys.

Ken, he didn't happen to recommend this on Wednesday the 1st, did he? that would have been the ultimate April Fool's joke, methinks.

GREAT review. Love the pallet part.

I used to smoke those back when I first started smoking cigars, I have to admit, I used to like them...I also liked the La Unica brand back then. A lot has changed in 10 years, I can't or don't really enjoy those nowdays. I guess your taste change over the years, you try lots of differant sticks, your income changes so you spend more then when you first started out. There are many great cigars selling now that knocked some of the old guard down a notch.

Whew! That was tuff to admit, but I feel a lot better after confesssing!

I know some guys say these are good affordable smoke. I've had 2 and think they are an affordable smoke...not a good one though... but there are some dog rockets I do enjoy.
