monthly kitty?

what is everyone's opinion on setting up a monthly kitty for the 25th cigar? easiest solution is to just divide up our monthly budget by 12, so everyone gets two cigars from each box. but that leaves a 25th cigar homeless. I'd happily take it, but why don't be spice it up a little. here's my proposal.

we just divide everything up by 12. so essentially everyone is chipping in for the ghost 25th cigar. we can then either make an internal birthday club and award that to the member whose birthday is that month. run a contest with the winner taking it as a prize. letting it build up and selling it every few months to pad our purchases. I don't know, what do y'all think?

Birthday club falls apart if you end up with more than b-day a month. Sorry Lawyer Boy.

I suggest we hold them til the last purchase of the period and have a drawing for the extra.

Another idea is to let Jorge keep one extra each cycle as "payment" and then do a contest/drawing for the extras.

With 12 members you can also just let each person have his turn at the extra stick. One person per month per year would get the extras. I also like the birthday idea but we may have a few guys in the same month so the rotation would be kind of the same thing.

the thing with taking turns each month is that, I'm sure, we'll reach a point where we'll have more members than a year has months. also some buys will be more special in some months than others.

as bj (legends) suggested, the drawing or contest is sounding like the better option.
