  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Here is my newest cigar band project.

I turn/make wooden pen on a small lathe. The wood is Curly Pyinma with a Tatuaje Brown lable glued & sealed onto it. This was my first time making one of these and hopefully I'll get a chance to make some more this summer.

Sweet! Nice job. I did one for CAO Rep Steve Faccenda (RIP) when the LX2 first came out. He sent me stock so I'd have a few bands to work with. :D Fun/delicious project.

Keep up the round work. Looks great!

Thanks everyone! I do plan on making more of these & I do feel there would be a small market here. I actually have one brother here that I am going to be making my first "customer" requested pen. I'll keep you all updated.

As for the glue & finish it is medium CA glue (Cyano Acrylate)

If you happen to make one out of Ambonia with all the nice swirls let me know!
Do you have an idea on how much your gonna charge?
I can order just about any type of wood & Ambonya is one of them.

I am still pricing everything out but it won't be super expensive. The cost changes by the type of wood and by the pen kit and a cigar of course. Also, they are "made to order".

Where did you buy the kit? Woodcrafters, Penn State?

Me and my dad have made hundreds of these pens using a lathe over the years. He actually using the pens as giveaways to clients of his. Last year we made just under 200 pens with matching key rings all from exotics and acrylics, It's always a big seller and people get really interested. Great gifts.
