This is what the Garcia's have to say on their website about this blend.
“My Father Connecticut is going to be an extension of the already existing line My Father and My Father Le Bijou; the cigar is blended by Jose “Pepin” Garcia and his son Jaime Garcia at the My Father Cigar Factory in Nicaragua: It features an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Nicaragua Corojo 99 Binder and Nicaragua Habano-Criollo filler, all the tobacco coming out of the Garcia’s farms with the exception of the wrapper which comes from Ecuador. This cigar also features a very unique aromatic leaf that gives the cigar aromas and flavors; a special fermentation process was given to this particular type of tobacco in order for it to release all the aromas and flavors that the Garcias were looking for to finish the last touch of this blend.”
No prelight draw using the "French" method.
This starts out in typical My Father fashion. Spice, though it quickly fades and does not reappear until much later. Sweet salted peanuts, toast and cream. Peanut is the predominant flavor and is not subtle. You don't have to search for it. It's delicious and a specific flavor I have not experienced in a cigar. The peanut fades to flavors of wood, leather, fruit, cream and nougat. It reminds me of a payday candy bar.
I thought the ash would hold on just a little longer. It didn't. We've all been there. The second third begins and peanut butter drifts back in. This time it is a darker roasted flavor. Sweet, salty and creamy. Amazing flavors are abundant. Peanut again fades. Caramel, salt and sweet hay smoothly shift to the front. The transitions come in waves coming in then fading back.
I remove the double bands for the final third and there was a bit too much glue on one. A piece of the wrapper comes off. This does not detract from the experience but irritating none the less. Dark roasted nuts, coffee, caramel and cocoa. Spice is again present and welcomed. The finish of the cigar is cool and no hint of harshness.
My overall experience with this cigar was outstanding. The smooth transitions would make this a versatile cigar that could be enjoyed with a cup of coffee just as well as an after dinner treat.
At this point I would normally post my number ratings and overall score. However, this stick and the number ratings are being used for the cigar bracket contest started by Catawbamatt. Therefore I will omit the numbers until after they are released.
