  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Garcia&Garcia My Father Le Bijou 1992 Petite Robusto

I decided to celebrate my return to the office with this smoke, which was bombed to me anonymously. This might have been a bit of a heavy choice for 10 a.m., but what the hell...

This cigar has a beautiful dark chocolate wrapper. And there's something undeniably classy about the substantial band. The prelight aroma was pleasant and woody.

The first thing I noticed upon lighting was a ton of spice and pepper. It was a little overpowering for the first few puffs but quickly mellowed out. The first third of the smoke is powerful - lots of spice, pepper and leather. This is a very meaty stick. The draw is a little firm, but manageable.

I did have some burn issues pretty early on and had to relight once. After the relight, some raisin sweetness and hints of anise started to appear. These hints continued throughout the stick. It remained full-bodied but had enough complexity to be very interesting. This was a really fun smoke.

Call Social Services before you light up, because My Father will beat your azz.
Final score: 90 (would have been higher without the burn issue)

Great flavors in this stick but like you said burning issues. I've noticed lot of undefilled sticks in this line as well, but they are very tasty sticks. Awesome flavor profile For me. Anyone else notice burning/tunneling issues?

Nice review on the 1922.

The 1922 is definately a different smoke from the original "My Father" line.

Nice review bro. The Original My Father has more of a spicey kick to it that lasts, the Li Bijou has a quick blast of spice but mellows into a maddy sweetness

good to know Larry I was not impressed with the original my father line seemed kinda mellow for me, I prefer the Pepin black and san cristobal.
