Tatuaje Wolfman

Before leaving for a short trip I was lucky enough to procure a single elusive Wolfman. I had saved this cigar to smoke on Halloween night and was eagerly waiting to try it as I had heard so many wonderfully positive reviews and praises regarding this particular stick.
Setting/Weather:
After a long weekend of intense rain, the clouds parted and gave way to an amazingly cool evening. The air was light, as the storms forced the heavily humid air away and left behind that fresh smell that permeated my senses. I decided to sit in a lounge chair by the pool and lay back soaking it all in.
Initial Aroma/Pre-light Draw:
Upon bringing the cigar under my nose I was welcomed with a delightfully sweet graham cracker aroma with a subtle hint of freshly cut oak. The cold draw imparted an essence of mild barnyard and a kiss of honey like sweetness. The construction was remarkably solid and void of any defects. A light squeeze gave way to a medium/firm density.
First Third:
After a perfect toasting of the foot I began to draw upon the exposed filler and got a nice mild dry oak and cedar essence virtually void of any spice. Once it hit the wrapper however, Bam, I was blasted with a complex flavor of dense, gnarly, charred wood leaving a cloying acrid taste from the voluminous smoke. To the cigars credit it was a smoke stack, which is a quality I love; dense billowing clouds of smoke. I returned to the stick after about 30 seconds and to my astonishment it was completely burned out. Bewildered, I relit the wolf and continued an ever increasing downward spiral of horridly bitter flavors until about 5 minutes later when again it burned out completely. This was the first Tatuaje monster that I had ever had an issue with. The Frank, Drac, and Face (have smoked at least 10 of each) all had nothing short of perfect construction and a razor sharp burn line. This little charade lasted into the second third.
Second Third:
To put it tersely, it was nothing short of a disaster. After about the fifth relight the stick was void of any flavor aside from caustic stale smoke. I stayed with it, smoking it as the burn line canoed to the point of utter destruction. I prayed that this agony would end until the wolf shed its fur and began to unravel and split on me.
Final Third/Final Thoughts:
The cigar had unraveled on me to such a degree that I was unable to smoke it any further. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. Never in all my cherished Tatuaje memories had I experienced such a dour smoking experience. I ritualistically smoke the corresponding monster release every Halloween (usually end up revisiting the previous monster or all the previous ones on the same day as well) and can honestly say that I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every stick. I love Tatuaje and can say I have had the privilege of smoking virtually every single release both regular and limited. Perhaps I got a dud, the proverbial embodiment of the runt of the pack so to speak. Sadly however, this solitary, elusive Wolfman was nothing short of a dog.
I would love to hear your comments regarding my experience.
