  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So after a huge build up to get these and a lot of less than spectacular reviews I decided it was time to try one, and come up with my own opinion.
After a dinner party myself and two fellow smokers retreated to the deck with a glass of Ron Zacapa 23 and a Drac to smoke.

My palette isn't one to be able to distinguish individual flavors, so I apologize for the lack of specifics in the review.

The pre-light feel and draw was perfect. Upon lighting it and taking the first few puffs the draw stayed perfect. I was immediately surprised that this was not a big full bodied cigar, but rather it was a very nice medium bodied smoke.
The smoke was very smooth and velvety. The cigar was a typical Tat full of complex flavors but not over whelming nor the big spice a Tat starts off with.
The cigar burned evenly for me, but one of my buddies did have to re-light his. I don't think it was from construction but from setting it down for a little bit.

My overall opinion, is that this is a great cigar. I think that all of the hype has influenced expectations. I would definitely recommend this cigar and I am happy I have more to smoke.

Nice review. Glad to hear it was a good smoke for you. I have not tried a Drac yet. I have been very harsh on this brand. I tell myself to be more open minded some times. All brands have issues and it seems that Tats can not be all bad. I have a J21 that I will smoke soon and will go at this very open minded with no expectations. Good or bad.

Great review! I plan to smoke my 2nd one next month (supposedly Pete said they needed to rest at least 6 months, and so that makes next month). My first one was a good cigar, but disappointing for the price. I'm figuring this 2nd trial will be better.

I just got a J21 and have not tried one yet. I'll be interested to see your thoughts and will share mine after i smoke it as well.

Sounds like a great combo of two friends, cigars and drinks!
Glad it was an enjoyable smoke. I have still yet to try one, but I do have a single resting that keeps calling my name when I open the humi :)

Can't say I agree with your assessment. I've smoked 4 over the last few months and each time they've been no better than smoking hot air. Absolutely no body or complexity to speak of. Hype had little influence on my experiences with this cigar. The Boris was a much better cigar. At least you enjoyed it so more Drac's for you ;-)

Nice Review...I was also expecting a more full bodied "monster" cigar. This monster was smooth silky and flavorful as descibed, giving Tatuaje's line up even more depth.

great review, thanks! I bought a box of Dracs when they came out and between gifting and trading, I only have 5 left and have yet to try one! I should do that...

I am with Nate I will light one up next month. I had one right out of the box and was disappointed. Maybe they have had enough time.
