  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So some people(sheep), in my office, are proclaiming that everyone knows the NBA finals are rigged to increase ticket sales and advertising dollars. I even heard one guy say "That's why it always goes 7 games". I asked if he ever watched basket ball in the regular season or if he watched the finals for the last 10 years or so. NO was his answer. So he got told to STFU, and that we was an idiot for listening to a hater who has no clue either.

And for anybody else who has heard this conversation or believes this crap...

I think it's more the semis than the finals.

Hard to jump on board the "rigged" bandwagon, but the NBA's officials have already proven themselves to be far less than honorable, so......

I will say this. The Sacramento kings got screwed in the 2001/02 western conf. final. If you watched the game, it was obvious. I do think it has been cleaned up since, and hopefully we'll never have another issue. I sometimes wonder if the damn NBA draft is rigged?

I am excited to see this game 7. This is only the 5th game seven final in the last 30 years so it a pretty stupid argument, but people always have conspiracy theories.

While I think the officials can have an impact on the game, don't think they rig the games.Seemed like they were going to be the bigger story this year until after game 3 they have been pretty much letting them play some quality playoff physical ball. You can even see them warning the guys off to the side when things get chippy warning them to calm down before "T"ing them up.
Feel terrible for Perk, goes the whole series without getting the T that will suspend him and goes out with an injury anyways.

No way are they rigged. Every team needs to win to boost ticket sales and advertising.

These are the same folks that think 9/11 was an inside job and O.J. was framed. Oh and Obama is a good President.

Game 7 is a joke.

If the Lakers lose to a sans-Perkins Celtics... Wow.
The Celtics will play plenty hard without Perkins and this game can still go either way. Pau will be more physical, which will help the Lakers, but someone will step up on the Celtics.

I pretty much agree except for one terrible non-call for Pau on a gimme basket when he was practically tackled with the ref only feet away that would have closed the Celtics lead to only 2 points in the 4th quarter of game 4. The Celtics turned it around for a quick transition basket to almost cement their victory. Worst non-call I have ever seen in my life. Other than that, the refs are doing a good job since game 3. Not perfect, but acceptable.

I hope Pete Johnson has a sense of humor as I commented on his Tatuaje facebook post last week...Go Celtics!, lol. Living in the upper Mid-west I've always been a Celtics fan because of Bird. He was from Indiana and his work ethic was phenomenal.

Don't forget, they still have Rasheed to step in for Perkins! I know its a long shot that he won't play like a bum and foul out in 30 seconds, but I can dream!
I'd like to see them start Garnett at center and play Baby at the forward to put a body on that big pu**y Gasol and work him for 48min.

I wouldn't, that sounds like a really good idea to me. Could you delete the post just in case Doc Rivers is reading this?
