Nest thermostat; anyone like/dislike these or have a better suggestion of smart thermostat? I've been considering upgrading ours to something a little more modern, with the ability to use an app on it. Just fishing for thoughts.

I have the Nest. Not a fan of it, it looks cool but i don't think its saving me any money aside from the convenient factor.

I have quite a few family members and friends with the Nest and they say the same thing as @ChuckMejia. We have a thermostat that is hooked in through our alarm system (Vivint) and we like it. I just wish Vivint was connected to Apple HomeKit.

We had our entire AC/furnace replaced almost 2 years ago and it came with a "free" Trane thermostat. It's nice but I'm not sure it's worth what they charge for them. Really it just contributes to my laziness since I can sit on the couch and change the thermostat from my phone. There was 1 time we went on vacation and I forgot to change the thermostat to "away". I was able to do it from 600 miles away which was convenient.
