  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Nestor Miranda himself will be visiting us at Fumar Cigars on Wednesday, Nov. 3rd, starting at 4:30pm. We will be featuring product by, of course, the man himself and talking shop with him. If you've never had the opportunity to meet him, he is an amazing man to speak with and I am sure he will have some great stories for us...and maybe some Art Deco too!!!

As always, we will be providing food and drink and a free cigar for coming in. What that cigar will be is yet to be determined, but with Nestor, you know it will be good. And of course there will be box specials as well as buy 3 get 1 free on all Nestor Miranda products.

I look forward to seeing some folks and can't wait, this was a big surprise for me to learn of today!

Spoke to our rep today with Nestor and it looks like the Art Deco arrives in the storage in Miami the last week of October. I MIGHT have it for the event, she said she would push hard for it seeing as how he will be here.

Also looking into roasting a whole pig for the event for something different! Could get interesting quick.

Just to update, we found the pig and this will indeed be a pig roast.

Also looking into having posters made up for you collectors out there to have for Nestor to sign if you purchase 6 or more cigars. I'm a big cigar geek and love to collect stuff like this and I know I'm not the only one so I figured others might like it. Let me know what you all think!

Think about what Brandon that you are a geek. Sorry buddy but yes you are. A poster would be cool, some Art Decos would be cooler.
I've never said I wasn't a geek. And trust me, Art Deco would be MUCH cooler, but I have no say in that unfortunately.

Shameless bump to the top since this is coming up quickly.

And also to announce I got the call today from Miami saying I would be getting Art Deco in time for this. They are making sure of it because Nestor will be here to celebrate.

Time for another bump up. This Wednesday, Nestor will be in to eat some pig, smoke some cigars, and chat it up with all of us. Miami called today and Art Deco was sent overnight this morning, I will have it in tomorrow!

The event last night went awesome and all who attended got to have a good time with Nestor. From taking pictures and after each one him asking "how did I look" in his Cuban accent, to passing out cigars, and having a few drinks with Nestor, it was a success!

The coolest part was when he walked in to the shop to see the 1st boxes of Art Deco to be sent out. He freaked seeing them for the first time as he had not seen them before last night. The boxes at IPCPR were just mock-ups, not the finished product, and he left Miami on Friday, before the boxes arrived at the warehouse. When he walked in, his reaction was priceless to say the least. He signed each box in numerical order for which they were sold, and one of our own BOTL's here got the first box ever sold in the U.S.

JJon90 came up earlier in the day to purchase the box and Nestor signed it for him "Thanks, this is the first box of Art Deco sold in the U.S.A. Nestor Miranda 11-03-10". It was a really cool experience to see for sure. I know other shops had the bundles, but to be the first store with the actual packaging was really neat and really an honor!
