I went to an event in L.A. for Hermosa Cigars tonight. this new company was started by a L.A. local and just premiered. they are Nic. filler and binder with a Habano sungrown wrapper from Eq. first off they look great with an oily wrapper and rock solid construction and perfect draw and burn. i had the robusto that is the standard 5 x 50 that are uncellophaned in a great cedar box that could double as a humidor. it is around the $8 price range for the robusto. the aroma when I lit it was almost Cuban floral like and the flavor was as well. it reminds me of a Bolvar. the flavors stayed the same through out the stick, which was surprising. I would call this a medium- full, with Cuban like breadiness, light spice, cedar, cream and light sweetness. a very balanced flavor and strength with a nice long Cubanie bready finish. I talked with the owner and he is of Cuban heritage. He said he wants to keep this brand small and B&M only. If I didn't know better I would think they have put some Cuban tobacco in the blend and who knows there might be. this stick had no negatives in it at all. I hope this company stays around and is a big hit. every thing about it is quality and the prices are right. there is a video on Youtube and a website. I give this cigar a 94 without hesitation. great first run and I will be buying some more. I have to say the owner is such a cool guy with a beach vibe that is real down to earth jeans and t-shirt kind of kat. I hope to go to more events of Hermosa Cigars soon.:cbig:
