  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Wouldn't you like to know?

I have never had a single blade cutter that has worked but loved the idea of one. I saw this in the catalog from one of our distributors at the shop and to try one. A little history on this cutter is the blades are made in Seki Japan which is one of the the leaders in the world in blade steel.

So far this cuts on par or better then my Palio but we will have to see how it holds up. May never be my full time cutter but will definitely be in my pocket when I want something a little fancier.

So it didn't pinch the cigar at all? Definitely looks nice, and a compact size is always good.

So Aaron does it have that folded steel look being where it is made?
The steel does not show the folds but unless it is done in Damascus style usually won't. I picked up a cheap sword in china many years ago and there was a Kung fu instructor with me who picked it out and said it was folded 200 times but shows no trace on the steel really. As much as they talk about it being made in the same place using same traditions as samurai swords I highly doubt it. Most swords are not made with stainless steel instead with a high carbon steel that allows more strength and flexibility. The newest and best stainless steels coming out Japan these days all seem to be made with particulate metals and as such not folded or forged.

Nice cutter! I searched for retailers that sell them, and only found one and their pricing seemed high. What is price your store sells them at?
