  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Any thoughts? Last really good Viajes I had were the regular Oro, WMD, original Late Harvest, and the Lanceros. All of these were quite a while ago. Havent had a truly good one since. I mean the Exclusivos are OK, though I haven't tried the Nicuargua.

Let me just list a few outstanding Viajes you could have smoked, both jar releases, HHG, Full Moon, WLP, Antidote, 5th Anni, Leaded, Candy Cane, zombie red and green. This being said, sure there are some that aren't great too. Just do your homework and you will be rewarded.

What cigar are you referring to, the Super Shots, Skull & Bones?

@ak2000 my thought is don't do it, and if you do, try a couple singles if a local supplies them, or a fiver tops. Viaje has had far more misses then hits and its been going on this way for years, and its not like they come cheap either. Box buys with Viaje are something I came to regret quickly over the years, because if they are bad, you can't get rid of them unless its at a steep discount.
As far as the cigars they make these days, I don't know, but I can confidently say Viaje's best stuff is all about 5+ years in the rearview though at this point. Some of their early stuff looked like legends in the making, but that time never came around and age doesn't treat their blends well IME. The last thing they dropped that I actually really enjoyed was the Late Harvest Hang Time and that mustve been what 4 years ago at this point? Theyve had a few other cigars here and there that have been OK or good, but at those price points its hard sell to me.

The OR Exclusivo Shorts were quite good, a friend and I split a cab back in the day. But when it coms to short sticks, no one does them better, or cheaper, then Cuba. It'd be a cold day in hell before I dropped $300+ on a cab of these.
