  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

i have been quite excited to review this cigar

Pre-light: upon picking it up it is very light compared to cigar's it's size. box pressed triple cap. it is very aromatic with a wide variety of aromas a couple that i can pick out are licorice and sweetness. it has a beautiful lable and a foot lable as well.
cold draw: getting quite a bit of flavors that are exciting me about smoking this cigar alot of first time flavors like raisins and fruit some pepper. i used a v-cut View media item 47289View media item 47290
light: triple jetline very easy to toast and light.
first third: I have no idea how i missed this wrapper is cracked at the foot.View media item 47294after the light it is exorbitantly smooth almost weak, some pepper and sweet hay clove like herballyness. very little leather mostly earth and strange hay clove sweetness little pepper not much. nearing the end of the first third getting a smoky taste with nutty campfire. i also get a little pepper but not until well after the draw View media item 47293
second third: creamy butter shinning through. all flavors mellow out except the nutty campfire nearing the end of the second third and these wrapper problems just get worse and worse. the cap is falling apart and there are three cracks in the wrapper one at the foot and it goes all the way around the cigar to the front. so far the draw has been almost perfect but as the wrapper cracks the draw is becoming looser and looser. all flavors have disappeared except for campfire and a little pepper.View media item 47292View media item 47292View media item 47293View media item 47294View media item 47295View media item 47296View media item 47296before i go into the last third, i removed the label, i don't know if all the new worlds are like this but it appears aj fernendez autographed the back of my label before it went in the press. it is in pen so it's not like it's printed on there it's in penView media item 47299
last third: what I have been waiting for straight leather and pepper and it is the perfect end to an otherwise shitty cigar. now i maybe being overly critical but i don't think i am. i hardly enjoyed this cigar at all. with the wrapper problems the cap problems and alot of bland flavors and aromas, i wasn't happy with it AT ALL.View media item 47298
final grade: now i would not buy another one of these cigars personally if someone gave me one i would out of respect for the person try to enjoy it as much as possible, not saying it was horrible but in my option totally sub-standard and i don't feel bad about giving it an 82 this is the first time i have given a grade below 88

quite surprised that you didn't enjoy this cigar. It's one of my favorite budget smokes. I find it similar to Padron 1964's, but not as refined. To each his own though and thanks for the review.

Hmm thanks for the review. I am not as excited to try the one waiting for me now. I'll still go in with an open mind though.

Sounds like a bad apple. The new world is one of my favorite sticks and I have been through 2 boxes without any construction issues. Hard to beat for value. Don't be scared off.

Sucks that it came apart. Maybe the last third leaves hope that this was just a lemon? Either way, thanks for the well written review.
