New Xikar lighter and what NOT to do with it...

I got so fed up with that crappy lighter that I spent 40.00 on that I sold it for 5.00 and got a brand new Xikar single flame torch. I was setting the flame height today and found out what NOT to do with it. If you have one (or any torch) don't cup your hand around it trying to see the height of the flame and get your thumb over the top of it. When you smell flesh burning, its time to move your hand. JESUS that thing burned the hell out of me. :frownno::angryteet

not to laugh at your expense, but, lol. i have also heard of a few singed noses when trying to look too closely.

Do not leave a bic lighter in the truck when it is over 100 degrees. When you light it it will burn your nose hairs. Do not have to trim them for sometime.

I normally fill my lighter with walmart butane, crappy stuff. Well, I recently got a fill of xikar butane. My friend singed a large portion of his eyebrow off last night when he went to use my lighter. =) Thats what he gets for smoking cigarettes.

I recently did the same thing...but I was attempting to touch up a cigar. I recently got a triple flame vector to replace my small single flame Wolf...definitely a step up in power (and danger)!

Try these, they will really burn you. The red one gets me every time. And by the way, the IS a Xikar cutter in the middle.

Ha....ha....ha...ha....sorry Allen, but when you experience the same thing it brings back the memory of when it happen to you. Torched my thumb the same way, I found a way to turn mine up, if you remove the little black knob on the bottom it allows you to turn the lighter all the way up but be careful that's nose & eye even eyelash & brow territory!

Been there, done that. I was flipping the lighter while talking on the phone and ended up igniting it. Smart move.
