  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

For my review of one of my favorite sticks I picked the Quesada Espana

Size: Short robusto 4"x50
Wrapper: Ecuador
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Dominican/Nicaraguan

First glance: Nice light tan color, tight seams on the wrapper with light veins.

Prelight: Cut with the super dull cutter in my work truck, so I tried a trick I read on here a few weeks ago and barely touch the cutter to the cap and rotated the cigar. Beautiful cut from a very subpar cutter. Big thank you to the BOTL who posted this tip. Draw is great.

First third: Lots of black pepper type spice with hints of leather and wood. Draw is great this entire portion of the cigar and smoke output is fair.

Second third: Spice is picking up even more, through the nose you can sure feel it at this point, the wood and leather are still there just not as much. Draw is great this entire portion of the cigar and smoke output is very good.

Final third: The spice has broke out of what I would call a black pepper into something of good jalepeno, you can feel it on your lips and it lingers on your taste buds. Spice is all I get from here on out, which is one the reasons this is a favorite.

Final thoughts: This is a solid smoke that has been dependable in the issues of burn, draw, and overall construction in my experiences. It's not a complex smoke to me but when I want something spicy this is my go to. Thanks for reading guys.

Thanks guys. I've smoked about a half box of these so far and have yet to be let down at all. Seems to be a very consistent cigar.
