  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Nub Maduro Torpedo

OK... here goes nothin'...

I bought the Nub purely for aesthetics. It's such a cool-looking cigar.

The first thing that grabbed my attention was the smell. This thing seriously smells like a piece of horse shit. I guess the kinder description is that it has "earthy" qualities. But I smell hay and shit.

I lit her up and was immediately hit by some unusual flavors. Some sweetness, a bit of pepper and, well... hay and patties-not-of-the-meat-variety. This remained throughout the stick and the whole thing seemed a little one dimensional and on the mild side.

I was kind of expecting a bolder cigar with that beautiful Maduro wrapper. But then again, I haven't been smoking cigars seriously for that long, so what the Hell do I know.

Last thought: They pinched this one off a little too soon.
smoking time: 35-40 min.
score: 82

Nice 1st review!

These do smell like a barnyard, but in my experience most sticks that smell that way taste pretty good. I agree that these weren't super strong (I think the Habano is the strongest NUB), but I liked the flavor. I got some floral notes off mine--not sure if that was a fluke or what, but it was nice.
