I went by a small tobacconist on my way home, and although they had a disappointingly small (and very overpriced) selection of cigars they did have a box of torpedo NUb Maduro's. Checking I found only one, so I picked it up.
Normally I check the overall appearance before I buy and put it back or select another if I find a defect, however being the last one I chose to ignore the small tear in the wrapper near the foot.
The NUb line is produced by Olivia. This one is (I'm assuming it follows the standard pattern) 4x64. Very thick and short.
After taking it out of the cello I noticed it had another tear near the band. I'm going to attribute this to the low humidity it was being stored at, as the other eight NUb's I've had exhibited none of this.
It lit fairly easily considering the large ring gauge. The draw was nice and free, with clouds of thick smoke coming after each puff. It had a nice dark full taste. It rounded out with some notes of coffee and dark chocolate. I couldn't recognize anything else, you'll have to forgive my undeveloped palate. It burned a bit hotter then the other NUb's causing me to put it down before the "nub" of the cigar. I didn't ash it at all, and it held wonderfully with a tight light gray / white ash.
