okay I need some input on how to figure out this numbers thing.

keep in mind that I want to shoot for a monthly budget of around a grand. but due to the number of cigars included in a box that would create some problem. so here are a few scenarious with pros and cons:

divide shares equally

we take $1000 and divide it by 25 which gives us $40 a share. this is the most economical solution

pros

- by far the cheapest plan.

- everyone gets guaranteed one cigar from each box purchased

cons

- increased numbers which creates a bigger shipping load for me, which I hope to lessen with the 3 or 4 months at a time commitment requirement.

- we might have problems when we do big ticket boxes so you may not get as many cigars in those months

limit active participants to 12-13

we only keep enough slots open to give everyone a chance to get at least 2 cigars from each box purchased. we'd be looking at around $80 per participant

pros

- less of a shipping hassle.

- you get more cigars per box. great if you are looking to build quantity at a fast rate.

- there will be a "kitty", so you'll have a chance to win extra cigars at no added cost


cons

- more expensive to participate

- there will be some cigars left over as each box won't be evenly divisible

- limits our slots


what does everyone think? can someone come up with a happy medium?

I've been contemplating dropping the monthly goal to $850, but jack it up to a grand for the final purchase of the period to make it a little more especial. that would drop slots down to 70 for a 12 active buyers based on a 4 month buying period.

how does that plan sound?

well I've gotten shot down three times on getting discounts with the promise of a constant order of a grand per month. that was my main reason for setting that purchasing goal. soooo, what does anyone think about dropping that figure to $850?

$850? Depends. What are we dividing that by? 4? :smile:

By 10, that's ~250 a qtr. By 12, it's ~210. As long as we're not chasing a $400 box each purchase, either sounds ok with me.
