NYC Restaurants

A dear group of friends in taking a little trip in NYC right now. Does anyone have restaurant suggestions for them? They're looking for a good sit-down, not overly expensive, with good atmosphere. Neighborhood joints are always welcome.

Blue Smoke- BBQ
Barolo - Italian
Avra- Seafood/Greek
Gotham- a little of everything.

And none of them are cheap
They all have websites.

There are not too many inexpensive places inNYC

there is a Shushi resturant in the Marriott Marquis in times square that is great and not overly priced
the wife and I loved Mesa Grill and not too bad

Katz's on East Houston, the Pastrami is the BOMB.

Touristy but worth it.

i ate at smith&wolenskys the last time i was in NYC and it was fan fing tastic. but not cheap.

last time i was there, i ate at mesa grille and gotham. both were great. gotham not cheap, but worth the cost.
