I'm not one to mix bourbon or rye with anything. If it's good, it doesn't anything but a cube of ice. Today I ran out of beer about the same time I ran out of ice. In an instant of panic I dropped some frozen blackberries into a freshly poured glass of Rouge rye. It was the only thing decent in the freezer. My ice maker was toast. Talk about a pleasant surprise. As the fruit thawed it added another dimension. Great drink with a cigar. This will happen again.
