  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

OH Crap...

I'd keep it even if you just use it sparingly to light whatever, I'm sure if she knows you like it and use it or a semi regular basis you'll be prone to getting similar gifts!!! At least she didn't get you something you'd never use...

Return it and take the $30 and go to Wal Mart and p/u 10 Ronson Jet Flame lighters. After that you should dump your girlfriend for not doing the research on your hobby about Colibri:cool: Seriously though never owned a soft flame if that's what it is but they do look nice. I say keep it and if it craps out on you head over to Wal Mart and buy the Ronson jet flame and you'll never buy another lighter again.

I bet I have 20 lighters that still work, everything from a Linge II, a colibri flint (it's worked fine for 6/7 years now) and everything in between. For a torch my everyday go to is a Ronson Jet Flame. The Xtend I used to carry is sitting on my dresser. The Ronson lights every time, same as the Xtend the only difference is about $100.

I agree you can't beat the Ronson. I must have 20 lighters that work, everything from a Linge II to the Ronson. I carried an Xtend as an everyday lighter for 3/4 years until I got the Ronson, it's now become my every day lighter. Lights every time just like the Xtend, I guess the only real difference is about $120. I do have a Colibri soft flame flint lighter that has worked fine for 6/7 years now. When flying I use a Colibri all plastic torch that also works well and it goes through security in my pocket.
