  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I waswondering if there are any cutters you can use one handed? Unfortunately I fractured mr wrist Sunday making it impossible to cut off the end of a cigar. It had to be my right wrist which makes typing on a keynoard a pain in the ass.

Thanks.

your best option would probably be to use a punch, I one hand it when i cut a cigar while driving. You could also try using a cigar stand to hold the cigar in place while you cut it. and finally old school just flick the cap off with your fingernail.

Most cigar cutters are one handed in that you only use one hand to cut...or am I missing something? Can you still hold the cigar in your other hand?

If you are trying to hold and cut with one hand, wow, that sounds just about impossible.

The xikar xi series looks like you can use it with one hand.

you would still need both hands (one to hold the cigar)

I think maybe a table one (not necessarily the one below, but you get the idea): http://www.thompsoncigar.com/product/ROSEWOOD-ASHTRAY-WITH-GUILLOTINE-CUTTER/79791.uts?cm_vc=10591&TLCode=24362&cm_mmc=ShoppingEngines-_-Singlefeed-_-GPS-_-24362&cvsfa=2407&cvsfe=2&cvsfhu=393431323632

otherwise, maybe just ask someone else to cut it in the meantime. here's to fast recovery!

If you can't hold the cigar in your broken hand, maybe just pinch it between your knees and cut the cap. Or a punch maybe would be easier :dunno:. Sucks bro, sorry to hear that.

A cubancrafters perfect cutter is a guillotine which has a backplate. Stick the cigar in your mouth with the wrong end and then cut, be careful not to soak it though.

edit. you mean completely one handed? If you can't use your right hand to hold the cigar, I guess you could lay it on the edge of a table and clip with your left hand.

Yeah, completely one handed. I have a splint from my hand to just above my elbow. I am hoping Friday will be a smaller splint.

I am thinking devious, good time to test out your local B&M, can you give me a cut? I feel bad for your pain, however I could have some fun with this one, and I am pretty sure mine would cut them with no problems for me.
