  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Out of all the Monster series brought to us by Pete Johnson, so far this just has to be my favorite. It's been quite awhile since I smoked my last one so I was just itching to make sure time has not ruined a good thing.
On the light
The feel of this cigar is just right to me. Perfect in size and chape. No flaws that I could see and the sweet tabacco scent still tingles the nose. After cutting the cap I take a pre light draw just to make sure it isn't pluged or tight. Yep...just a perfect draw. Not to tight, not to loose. After I set a flame to it I just sit back and see what some more time has done to this cigar.
The first thing that still hits me with this is the solid white pepper and tabacco flavor. Still has a nice punch right out of the gate. I'd say for the first inch or so it held onto that.

Rounding the first third and into the half
Very nice leather and hints of pepper still coat my tongue. I get hints of dark coffee too I think. The mixture of flavors still work well together. The ash is nice and tight and I'm dropping it about every inch or so. the draw is perfect and the smoke is thick and creamy. Love the scent in the air it leaves too.

The second half
After round the halfway point, this cigar has stayed pretty constant in taste and flavor. At times it seems a little creamier but for the most part the leather and tabacco are still running the show. Now I'm not a huge lover of strong leather type cigars but the mixture on this is just perfect to me. I think the blend complements itself and even after all this time it is holding up beautifully.

Even Maggie was looking a bit depressed I was getting towards the end.

The end
Well...again this cigar just continues to show me the love. I hated having to put it down but it just got to damn hot to hold even by my finger nails. It did get a little bitter in the last inch but I didn't care.
All in all, I still say this cigar is just fantastic. It is still my fav on the monster series line and I'm glad time has been good to it.
Smoking time for me on this was around an hour and forty five min's.

Great review! Love the Boris.

Some cigars you save for special occasions, other cigars are a special occasion. Everytime I light up a Boris is a celebration in itself. One of my Top 5 of all time I think. I'm sensing that a another celebration should happen in the next couple weeks :)

Nice review Tom. This cigar has had me since day one and seems time has left this guy alone for the most part which is great. The Boris is still in its prime. My fave Tat. Don't understand why this couldn't be rereleased. Oh well, makes it that much more special everytime. It's funny because the Drac was elusive at first so I stocked up on the Boris when they were released. Turned out to be a great decision.
