  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

First off, I just wanted to say thanks for all the greetings and to the brothers who gave me advice on the ammo can humidor. but ive decided to put that project on the back burner and buy a true humidor. I've been searching online to try and find a 50-75 count humi. ive found a few i like on cheaphumidors.com and ebay. I went to my local cigar shop ( would buy it from them but they are really over priced) and asked for some advice. one thing he said was that most online shops get humidors that are factory "seconds". He did make a good point: buying a humidor online is like buying a guitar online, its always better to get your hands on it before you buy it.
So my question to y'all is this: if you've bought a humidor online what were your results? and do you know of a good company to buy from?
Thanks!

They have good humidors at great prices and they are good people, if something’s wrong they will make it right. They are the retail part of Quality Importers which wholesales to a lot of the online retailers out there. Look around and compare the prices on the same humi's. I have two from them and they work great. I've been to their warehouse and retail store and all the humidors I looked at have had very good seals. They deal with one factory and quality control seems to be pretty good.

another thing to consider besides the humi itself is a proper hygrometer and humidifier. Most humidors come with junk, and you have to upgrade the hygro and humidification. send me a pm if you want a good deal on a complete package.

Agree, I got my first two from them, and being on the East Coast it's about 2 days shipping time.

thanks for the advice y'all. anyone know about the CAO vision humidor, ive found on on ebay.
It's too small, and usually too expensive for the ammount of storage you get.

I can see this being a great way to go.

Agreed on the CAO Vision Humi, not worth it...I don't think it's worth it at any price about $1.00.

I recently got a mini-cabinet from cigarsinternational.com and everything turned out fantastic, their new "Make Me and Offer" thing is reall cool. On the same token, anything from the sponsors I think would be great, I feel the same way as other guys here: I don't think they would sell shabby stuff. Also, RonC can hook you up with some top-notch accessories.

Keep in mind that your collection will most likely grow with time, so keep in mind your current stash, plus what you have your eye on, and other sticks that magically make their way into your collection.

Good luck!

Nothing to build. Place beads (or Boveda humidity packs...even easier IMO) in the tupperdor. Place smokes in the tupperdor. Seal tupperdor by putting lid on.

I use this solution and couldn't be happier. Save your money for smokes...not storage.

Thanks matt. what about putting some cedar on the bottom? will a disassembled box work?
I've been told that will work. I think it doesn't do much more than work to eliminate any plastic smell there might be.

I've not use cedar in my tupperdor and have not seen any ill effects from not using it, but I could easily be in the minority on that one.

Hope that helps, bro...
