  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I'm smoking an Opus X Churhill that I bought in Chicago in 2003. And yes it is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better than a freshly rolled one. Great smoke but it doesn't justify the price gouge.

Talk to the old time Cubans in Miami and they'll tell you that anyone who pays more than $1.50 for a stogie is a damned fool ....

Has anyone had the metallic ink on the bands of thier aging Opus become darker, almost black? Just a question. Some of mine have this and some don't. I have had these in the humidor since 2000 or so.

I haven't had mine long enough to tell you, but welcome to board. Stop by the intro forum and tell us little about yourself.:waving:

I have had the pleasure of smocking some OR Opus and I still have a few ageing. Opus are, in my opinion, a very fine smoke. As of late, I don't want to pay the inflated price for them for an everyday smoke. I like Anejos and Hemingway Maduros as well. But they too have become too expensive to smoke regularly. I have now begun collecting rare Fuentes for occasional smoke and trade. Find another maker to smoke. There are many out there!

I heard from someone at Havanna today, that he has some opus he is looking to get rid of, he is brining them to the bar for the HERF in february, not sure if he wants to sell or trade them though. He's an old guy, so possibly they are already aged a bit as well.

I've heard when the metallic turns black that they are over humidified and can ruin some of the flavors. I could be wrong but a search could solve this?
