  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Yesterday I was driving home from work and I lit up a reserva D'Chateau Opus X angel share. I have smoked countless Opus X and even a fist full of Siglo Opus. The angel share is by far the best Opus X I have ever smoked. Yes I know they are pricey and hard to find. However in my opinion they are the best Fuente made.

The construction is flawless and the pre light draw is perfect. I am not one that can tell you about all the nuances of flavors. However I will say that the angel share is one of the smoothest and most balanced cigars I've smoked. I highly recommend buying a couple of these to smoke. I have a couple in humidor and I can't wait to see how they are with a few years age.

IIRC, the Angel Share is basically an aged Opus... it's supposed to be rolled with aged tobacco. So I'm not sure it will benefit from age, but it would be interesting to see.

close, but not entirely true. my understanding is opus angels' share has a different priming of the opus wrapper. the destino that came out last year may have been aged stock?

and, yes, i totally agree that it is amazingly smooth, balanced, and rich. also damn yummy. o)

I loved the Destino al Siglo Lancero, but I really didn't think the Angels Share was worth the price IMO. Glad to hear you enjoy it though!

I love every Fuente Lancero I've ever had. I'd like to see Fuente create an angel share and a vsg lancero.

I think the angel share is worth the cash.

Ah. That's right. I'm not real experienced with Opi X.

I love the Angels Share. I bought 2 last December and gave one to my son in KC. I put mine in the humi to acclimate and finally smoked it in May. And I agree with the OP, it's the best cigar I have smoked. Last week my local shop got in 1 box of Robustos and I asked if I could buy the box. He said he needed to keep a few for some of his other regulars, but he did sell me 15. I was so excited I may have giggled like a little girl.

Love these, but I've gotta say, I'd trade every Opus I own (which is a lot) for Destino lanceros.

Had one recently. Delicious. Almost like an Opus light with flawless construction and quad cap. Loved it. Strength wasnt overpowering either. If I come across any at BMs Ill be picking more up. Just not losing my mind hunting those things
