  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Size:4 7/8 x 40
Origin: Dom. Republic
Wrapper: Shade grown
Filler: Dom. Rep
Strength: Med/Full Body
Smoke Time: 1:10
Cutter: Xicar (first cap)

Draw was perfect, although the burn needed a few touch ups. Only aged a month in my 65% coolidor, the #5 like so many other Opus X I have smoked before, really needs more time. Great initial flavors of aged tobacco, sweet earthy notes, maybe some vanilla, with nice smoke output. Very smooth cigar, but lacked a little (not sure what) on the back end. Ash held on almost to the band in true Fuente form, and I got a nice little buzz as the strength picked up from medium body to full towards the end. Great little smoke that I look forward to revisiting in a year or so (18 left in my humidor). Would I recommend this cigar? Yes, as this is one of my favorite vitolas.

Thanks for the review.

I really want to try these, but I'm hesitant to pay the money they command, and constantly hear things like they need to age. IMO at that price they should be great out the box.

I know many don't like them fresh but I love all opus so would say if you can find them they can still be a great smoke young but will get better. If you find a shop selling them at fair prices they should be right around $10 so not really expensive either

I paid $10 a stick for these, which is right around MSRP if I'm not mistaken. I would definitely not pay more than that, as there are so many delicious smokes in that price range!
