I rarely use any of the above, but I'd be happy as hell if football commentators would stop using "He threw the receiver open..." The QB throws it to a spot that the WR has to move to in order to make the catch, thus, gettin himself open. It's been happening for 100 years, but this year it had to have a catchy phrase, and it seems like once I heard it, every freakin' bobble-head on TV has to use it 4-5 times per game.
Anyway, here's a phrase that will live on forever... [/andyrooney]
