  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I currently have a ceramic heater, fan forced tower. It's ok, but I want something with radiant heat I think. Any good recommendation out there. I will be using it in a garage this winter to keep me somewhat warm. Amazon reviews are ok to read but usually people aren't using them outside, more indoors.

You would need to crack the door for some fresh air,
^^^ This! Beware CO poisoning...DAMHIK -- Don't Ask Me How I Know (had quite a scare here during the "October Surprise" snowstorm about 10 years ago, due to my own stupidity! ) My personal recommendation is a vent-free Rinnai forced-air gas heater like the one I have. Expensive, but very good peace of mind. There are other (cheaper) vent free heaters available, but Rinnai is phenomenal. (y)

Nice looking rig. How much time would you guess you can get off of one 20# tank at the 10,000 setting?
Mine lasted the whole of last winter...maybe 6 to 8 cigars a week. I only ran both burners if it was really cold. Then again, most time I was dressed in my work clothes with thermal underwear and a Carhartt coat.

I use a single burner version and it's awesome. They can be had dirt cheap at the Big-Boxes.

You can't beat 60 bux brother! (y) Just brace yourself for the heat bill, because electric is pricy! (or is that propane?)
It's electric. Says it uses 1/3 the electricity of normal 1500 watt heaters. Either way, I only use it a couple time a week and usually shorter smokes in the winter anyways. Didn't want propane because i sometimes keep the garage closed or partially open in windy cold weather.
