EDIT: Everyone would rather participate in a circle jerk in a vherf so this is cancelled.
Gentlemen, let's hit the water for a cigar or two and then head to shore to fire up the grill. Bring your own kayak, canoe, jon boat, or any other non-gasoline powered watercraft. Make sure your registration is up to date.
Don't have your own? Rentals are available.
Time: I don't want to be on the water when there's no shade to be found so let's start around 3.
Busse Lake - Elk Grove Village
At Busse Lake, you can rent a canoe, kayak, row boat or jon boat and explore in a serene and lovely forest preserve setting.
OPEN HOURS:
From Higgins Rd. just west of Arlington Hts. Rd., look on the south side of the road for the turn to the Busse Lake Boating Center.

PRICES:
single kayaks $15/hr. (1 hour minimum)
canoes & tandem kayaks $20/hr (1 hour minimum)
jon boats $20/hr (2 hour minimum)
day rate is equal to 3 hours (after 3 hours we stop charging)
Reservations not required
Groups or people coming at peak hours can ask us to reserve boats by phone (224 415-6554) at least a day in advance. If the day you want to paddle has already arrived, it's too late to reserve, but just come over - we'll most likely have boats for you.
Grilling is allowed in designated picnic areas. I'm not sure if that means we can drop a Smokey Joe grill anywhere we can find space or if we need to reserve a space. If you have first hand knowledge, speak up. I'll call the forest preserve for info.
I am somewhat flexible on the date so if there's a better time for you, let's hear it.
