  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I saw this robusto last night & had to grab one to try - I think I paid $7.50-ish.

A brand new release made of Nicaraguan Corojo 2006 - I forgot it in my jacket & decided to light it up this morning - smoking it as I type...

I opened the cap with a fingernail (making due with what I've got) to discover that the wrapper is a bit on the delicate & flakey side. After preparing it, only the most critical would be able to even tell that I had not used a cutter.

The draw was perfect, yet caught me off guard because the taste was of burnt popcorn..

I lit it up to find a taste similar to the (new) Miami blend mixed with the 1968 blend IMO, yet on steroids. Pretty strong stick for the morning. The ash is light-grey & consistant, average hold, even burn line.

I keep detecting a metallic taste mixed with popcorn that I'm not sure how I feel about, maybe it's me.

So far - it's okay. Don't know if I"ll be rushing out to buy many more soon, but by no means is this a bad cigar. My impression is that it's geared towards the strong-cigar smoker's market, yet it lacks the richness of a 1932 series.

I would expect to see ratings in the neighborhood of 87...
I'd really be interested in hearing other's thoughts & impressions on this one!

Thanks for the 1st impression, AJ! I've been interested in this one since I heard about it a few months ago. I'm pretty into Padilla lately, but the 1932 is my favorite by far. I look forward to giving this a try.

Thanks for the review!

I have been hearing positive reviews on this smoke. I may have to add this to the "hurry up and smoke" list!
