Well I got my 10 pack in today from Holts and being that I work at the lounge on Thursday nights, thought I'd give one a try, and I'm damn glad I did!
Padilla 1932 lancero
42 x 6 7/8
Wrapper: Nicaragua - Corojo
Binder: Nicaragua - Criollo
Filler: Nicaragua - Criollo
A perfectly constructed cigar that had a good prelight draw, the cigar was filled nicely, and lit perfectly. The ash was very light grey on top and very dark black inside, the ash was just the right firmness and not flakey.
The flavor profile was very typical of Don Pepin, which for me is great as I love most all of his cigars. Very woodsy, lots of leather and some very nice spice. The draw was perfect all the way through and stayed lit well even when neglected for a couple minutes. This lancero produced very ample amounts of smoke and had some nice creamy notes about midway, a full bodied cigar that I'll be sure to look for more of soon. It's ready to smoke right now and I can only imagine that with some time will really develop into a favorite of mine.
No doubt I'm a sucker for lanceros to begin with, but that being said, this one was a winner!
