I just had what was easily the best cigar of my life...

Let me start this off by saying that I don't really have the vocabulary to decribe every little nuance of a cigar, but I know what I like and don't like...and I LOVE this cigar.

Appearance is top notch...beautiful, dark maduro wrapper and that classy Padron 1296 band. The cigar feels firm with no noticable soft spots and the smell is amazing.

Snipped the cap...pre-light draw was a bit loose, but nothing too bad...with a nice sweet taste.

Torched it up and started to go to work...
At the start it was still a little loose on the draw and had a tad bit of uneven burn, but after about a half inch, everthing straightened out and the draw tightened up nicely.

Tons of smoke coming off this thing and it smells wonderful (my wife even commented that it smelled nice).

Flavors wowed me...sweet, creamy chocolate and coffee flavors, as well as some spice/pepper...not overpowering, but just enough to keep things interesting.

Toward the middle of the final third, the flavor started to take a turn for the worse, and I contemplated setting her down, but she had been good to me thus far, so I figured I'd give her a couple minutes...glad I did!!! The wonderful flavors returned and stuck with me until I was burning my fingertips on the nub.

Overall, a few minor glitches aside, this was the best cigar I've smoked to date. I remember having a 1926 (don't remember which one) when I first started smoking, and while I enoyed it, I don't really think I got everything out of it.

I'd HIGHLY recommend this cigar to anyone...a bit too pricey for an everyday smoke, but for an occasional treat or special occasion smoke, this one fits the bill.

Can't wait to smoke the Family Reserve 45 when my son is born later this month...if it's anything like this one (or better) I'll thoroughly enjoy it!!!

Great little write up dude. Thanks for sharing. I love that even the high end Padrons have a rustic, old world, almost ugly look to them (Not the bands, obviously, but the wrappers, especially do), but they are some of the classiest, most complex smokes on the market.

Great review! Glad you liked it so much.

I've never had the #9 , but have loved the few '26 cigars that I've had. Too pricey for most occasions, I agree, but just wonderful cigars.

Great review. These are my overall favorite cigars. I smoked one on Saturday and it was awesome. I only have one left in the humi so I will have to restock soon.
