  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

It was a nice, brisk morning in NYC today, and I decided to smoke one of these beauties during my walk. For anyone curious, it is from a Feb 2009 box.
These have always been on the cost prohibitive side for me. There have been rare opportunities for me to get a "deal" on any of the Anniversary series, which I try to take advantage of (when financially able). That being said, I've have yet to smoke one and be upset that I paid what I paid for them. Instead, I usually find myself thinking, "I wish I could afford more." The consistency of these cigars, in my experience, has been second to none. Today's was no exception.
Right upon lighting this rugged looking maduro, I was hit with some intense cedar and sweetness. As I smoked through the first inch, I got some cocoa undertones but the intensity of the cedar and sweetness didn't let it. I'd call this a medium bodied cigar with mouth-tingling, full flavor. I couldn't believe, as I progressed through the cigar, how the flavors didn't let up much. Only once I reached about the half way point did the sweetness mellow down and allow the cocoa/dark chocolate to come out a bit more. The cocoa taste never increased to the forefront, but rather just enough to keep reminding me it was still there. The cedar was the lead throughout the entire smoke. From first puff to last puff, cedar maintained dominance over it's rival flavors. The smoke never got too hot (even as I nubbed it), and never let out a hint of harshness. From beginning to end, it produced copious amounts of thick, creamy smoke. It was a little funny to see people give me more "personal space" just to avoid getting caught in the wake of this cigar. It was a great way to start the work day. When it comes to these cigars, all I can really say is, "Smoke'em if you got'em."
Thanks for reading, everyone.

Did people look at you funny for taking pics of your cigar ? Thanks for sharing .

Dan
Some of them did. Probably b/c I kept holding it up to take a picture instead of just pointing it at the ground. Who wants to the floor, anyway? :scratchhe

Thanks for the review! I haven't had a padron anny in probably 3 years.. I'll have to get out and pick one or two up. I remember them being very good and the review definitely helps pique my interest again.

Great review. Haven't tried the maduro yet, got one in the humi taunting me. The natural was fantastic though
You know, i love them both and would honestly be hard-pressed to have to choose one. I have yet to try the '26 line in a natural, but would like to see how they compare to the amazing maduro.

Very nice review...the PAM 64 in all sizes (Monarco is my fav) are just mind-blowing in their quality and consistent great taste. Never had one that I failed to enjoy. If I could only smoke one NC brand for the rest of my life, this would be my choice. (sorry for the hyperbole, but it's easy to gush about this cigar)

Enjoy those smokes on your walks while you can. It will be illegal one day to smoke outdoors in the city.
