  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Paris, Madrid, San Sebastian, Seville cigar lounges/tobacconists?

Howdy international brothers!

I'm planning a jaunt to these cities and wondered if anyone has recco's for a good place to buy/enjoy some Habanos?

Also, though I've visited both countries before, I confess I am somewhat ignorant of cultural attitudes toward public cigar smoking there. Is it similar to here, i.e. slightly less acceptable than being a leper/Scientologist?

Thanks guys.

couple of blocks from the louvre... a bit on the expensive side (accessories).. but very nice.. and nice selection...

cigar and cigarette smoking is well accepted in Paris.. you shouldnt find it too hard to find a place to smoke.... smoking outdoors is permitted just about everywhere.. and probably half of the "cigarette shops" carry at least some cigars (mostly CC's)...

I'm going on my honeymoon to Paris next June/July. I would love to know your experiences. I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on a bunch of RE CC.

OK folks,

I went to La Civette and I have to say, their prices are as high as you'd expect given the area, but the quality of the Havanas in the humidor was abyssmal.

Torn wrappers. Exploded ends. Box after box. It was like a cigar holocaust! I don't know if they had a bad event in their humidor or if they just don't give two merdes any more, but the lady who went into the humi with me should have been embarrassed.

Any of the various newsstands that sell cigars have a humi case with good Havanas at good prices, all over Paris.

The one nice tobacconist I went to was on 128 Bd. St. Germain in the 5th called La Tabatiere Odeon. Also a tad pricey, but nice selection, well presented and preserved.

Overall I found cigar smoking in Paris to be a bit difficult.
