SurpriseMVP
Mike
I was gifted two of these from a generous BOTL at my local B&M. I have never smoked anything in the Garmirian line up and did a little google search before lighting up this stick. Heres what I found:
This limited production cigar line was rolled in 2001 and then carefully aged to perfection. Made with 10 year old tobacco, the wrapper is a hand selected Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, and a Dominican binder with filler tobacco from both the Dominican and Ecuador.
Size: 7.5 x 40 lancero
Pre-light:
I was very excited to light up a stick with tobacco that is 21 years old. Cold draw was very faint cocoa along with what I can only describe as dust. There is also a faint vegetable flavor as well. Draw seems to be perfect, but the tastes in the cold draw have really got me turned off and thinking this might be a dud.
First third:
Lit it up and nothing that was in the cold draw came through at all. Initial flavors of raisin & nuts. The big surprise is a very nice black pepper. So far the burn is razor sharp with the perfect amount of smoke. The retrohale is very smooth for a non-Cuban cigar. Overall Im really surprised and fully enjoying this cigar.
Second Third:
Flavors are consistent with the first third. Nice black pepper still there on the retrohale and an overall creaminess has settled in. I would put this in the range of Med right on the nose.
Last Third:
Pepper and raisin fade away. Still nutty and a bit of cocoa on the finish. No heat has built up and it is easily nubbed. Overall a good cigar. Not too complex, just straight forward good flavors. Definitely a smooth cigar that could be smoked at any time of day.
