A buddy has entered the difficult world of being a cigar rep and picked up the line, Pedro Martin. Pedro, the family head is a familar story. Left Cuba as a boy. Developed the Tropical Tobacco in the 70's and ran it until his death in 2001. Word is that he hand a hand in helping Don Pepin along his way. Pedro's daughter suceeded him, worked for Camacho then left to create the line named after her father.
The gold is an Ecuadorian-Connecticut wrapped cigar with a Nicaraguan filler and binder. The cigar has a light brown wrapper, minimal veins and smooth to the touch and taste. The cigar seemed loosely filled but the draw was medium and when lit produced a pleasant amount of smoke without much trouble.
This is clearly a medium bodied cigar, a morning cigar for me but with plenty of flavor. Slightly sweet with floral notes. This is a cigar that I could smoke al day and not be overwhelmed by the nic. I enjoyed it with coffe in the morning.
