  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I'm a big hot pepper fan and grow a good number each year. This is from todays garden haul. On average I'm pulling this amount about every 3 to 4 days. Anyone else garden?

The jalapenos in the pic have an excess amount of corking due to that fact I'm entering a batch in our state fair in a week so I'm selectively harvesting only those not making the cut right now.

Jalapenos, Caribbean red habanero, orange habanero, cayenne hot peppers. Pimento, red, yellow and green bell peppers on the sweet side.

...AND some of those same peppers that were picked this morning sliced, canned and ready to await their turn.

OK, enough of all this work. I'm off to the gym then a local BBQ joint to meet some friends for dinner, beers and a smoke or two. Have a good Saturday everyone.

Dude, that looks like an awesome haul. I used to grow habanero and jalepeno, but I don't get enough sun where I live now.

Do you grow anything else? We've been experimenting with potatoes, garlic, and chinese greens over here.

Wish me luck boys! I dropped off a dozen jalapenos and a dozen Caribbean Red habaneros this morning at the KY State Fair vegetable contest. It's a rather large event and features many, many entrants. Judging by what I saw there already my habaneros are more than competing and my jalapenos are middle of the road. It's been a tough year for growing showstoppers. Still fun though and taste great.
