  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

pyramid shaped. I kinda dig this shape. I'm usually a robusto kinda guy, but i may pick up some of this vitola up in my next purchases.

This was a darker brown wrapper, not as dark as some maduro's i've had.

Wrapper was nice none the less. 1 thick vein noticeable, but no splotchiness or anything to detract.

Feeling the cigar, i felt two distinct hard "stems". may not actually be stems, just thick or hard filler. The cap has a neat little nipple as well. (not a pig tail though)

The Cigar clipped nicely, p/l draw was nice and firm. I may have to readjust later, because I never cut enough off on pyramids / torpedos.

First Third

initial puffs were a bit nutty. Also I tasted a bit of toast (like toasted bread). Something I tasted, but couldn't quite place was a floral quality. Almost like how a light smelling flower smells? I could taste a bit of leafy / grassiness.

2nd Third

Picked up a more consistent floral taste. At about the half way point the amount of smoke actually picked up, though still not enough for me to blow smoke rings. I feel the cigar was a bit better balanced about half way through as well. Floral, toast, nuts

Last Third
It was getting towards the thinner part of the cigar. Tastes got a bit harsh, so i let it go out.

Conclusion
Overall, I liked this cigar. Its a bit of a change from the normal flavor profile I smoke, but nice. The burn was good. Required a touch up here and there, but nothing major. A small crack developed in the wrapper about 1/3rd of the way in, but it burned past it with no problem. Also, this cigar had a really long finish. I am still tasting it a day later. (yes i brushed my teeth :)
