PAIR: Crown Royal
CUT: Lucienne Bullet
LIGHT: Wooden Cigar Matches
METHOD: Toasting

Pre-Light: Mild aroma of cocoa & molasses

1st Third: Plenty of pepper on the nose which quickly mellowed to dark chocolate. About the 1" mark, ash is solid & silver with an impressively evenburn. Full of flavor yet very mild. Mellow cocoa, coffe & molasses undertones.

2nd Third: Raisin-like sweetness with cocoa & coffee still pronounced but a hint of black cherry. A touch of light pepper makes a come-back here but quickly fades again. Ash still holding beautifully solid & burning very even. ash fell at about 2" or so but in 1 solid peice - not flaky at all. As it approached last third, it became slightly more medium in strength with pepper & spice a bit more pronounced but cocoa & dark chocolate still lingering in the background.

Final Third: a new flavor shows up I can't quite pinpoint except to say maybe wet straw or moss.
All sweet notes subside & a slight acidity or chemical taste somewhat unpleasant rears its head. Smoked almost to the nub but eventually could no longer tolerate the chemicals.

Overall thoughts: A little too mild for my usual preference but all in all a very flavorful, complex & enjoyable experience - that is until the chemicals & sour notes took over in the final third. Near flawless construction & very even burn. Probably not something I would likely pick up often but definitely 1 I might recommend to a Mild smoker.
