  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So I was relaxing in the lounge at my favorite cigar shop, cigar international. As I puffed on my Trinidad I noticed that most of the gentlemen around me had their own "personal cigar kits". Each one was different. Tailor made for its owner. They had various lighters, matches, cutters, punches, draw pokers, & of course a few choice sticks. Each travel case was different, but served the same purpose. As we all smoked we compared our cutters & lighters. We all were showing our prized "tools of the trade". I realized that I might like to make my own "kit". After all, my travel case would be a much better way to carry my sticks home from the store. And all my tools would be on hand as well.
Do any of you have a "kit"? Those items you can't leave home without. The tools & toys you wouldn't think of going to the lounge for a smoke without. What do you keep in them? I'm hoping to find a few tips if in fact I decide to have one of my own. I already have gained quite a deal of useful knowledge in the short time I've been a part of this site. So always eager to learn I'm looking for a little more.

I just got the Palio cutter due to the recommendation of the other brothers. Can not go wrong adding that to your kit. Cuts through cigars like a hot knife through butter. RonC can hook a brother up with one if you are interested. I also like to carry a 5 stick cigar caddy and ron can hook you up with that too. What can I say, Ron is the man!

How much does Ron sell these items for?

Ron is one of our sponsors. You can find his store Cigar Solutions, Inc under our sponsors section. Find what you need there. Send him a PM for more details and he will hook you up.

Yep, place them on with Mod Podge glue or glue stick then use a two part bar epoxy to pour over it, it self levels and takes a day to dry. Hard as granite when done and it really personalizes your box which is nice at a herf when they all look the same.

Two part bar epoxy? Do I get that at the hardware store? Is it hard to do?

I buy mine at a local woodworking store, I've made a couple humidors for myself and buddies of mine using the same stuff. The stuff is VERY simple to use, mix in EQUAL parts, stir, pour let dry (OK, you may have to pop a bubble or two, but most self pop)

This is the EPOXY

These are the humidors I made for me and my friends:

Yes Ron is a great guy. Make sure you get three of his cigar stands when you order. They are super nice and come in very handy.
