Not sure how far Heros and Legacies is from where you will actually be but that is the one shop in Texas (multiple locations) that I hear is a must see...

The only cigar frinedly place in Houston is Downing Street Cigar Bar. The cigars are totally overpriced so bring your own! They have a wonderful scotch list if you like that sort of thing. As far as shops the two you need to see are serious cigars on 1960 and lonestar tobacco, also on 1960. This is far north Houston but the two are close so it is worth the trip. Both have a huge amount of cigars and have been in business a long time. If you don't want to drive up north my favorite shop is McCoys dowsntown on Main St. You might also check out Briar Shoppe, but it is not really worth making a special trip for. Hope this helps. As far as the humidity, I have never had a problem.

Those are Austin shops and are about two and a half hours away. Overpriced and overrated in my opinion...

Hey Thanks for the heads up on serious cigars, try to make it out there. The friend I'm staying with lives closer to downtown so i'll probably pop in to McCoy's and see if i can talk him going north to visit serious cigars. He's not into cigars but always up for something new so i think i can nudge him in that direction.

The guy who owns the shop is Mike. It is my favorite shop in town Nothing fancy just a good little spot near some good pubs downtown. It is on Main and Texas.
